Nomination Announcement – Co-Chief Investment Officer

Triasima Portfolio Management Inc. is proud to announce the appointment of Scott Collins as Co-Chief Investment Officer("Co-CIO"), effective immediately.

A Founding Partner of Triasima and a member of the portfolio management team since the firm’s inception, Scott had held the position of Deputy Chief Investment Officer since 2020.

Scott holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Concordia University and is a CFA® charterholder. He began his career in 1996 as a corporate finance analyst. In 1998, he joined André R. Chabot at a portfolio management firm before co-founding Triasima in 2000 alongside the latter and Redouane Khireddine.

Since then, Scott has played a pivotal role within the firm, contributing to several strategic initiatives, including the ongoing optimization of the Three-Pillar Approach™ and the strengthening of the risk management framework. His leadership has also been demonstrated through the mentoring of analysts and his active involvement in developing various investment strategies. He also plays a central role in shaping Triasima’s macroeconomic outlook, directly influencing the firm’s investment decision-making.

His appointment as Co-CIO reflects the recognition of his commitment, expertise, and longstanding leadership within the organization.

"Scott has worked alongside me since 1998 and has proven over the years to be a highly competent portfolio management executive. We share core values that have fostered a harmonious collaboration based on trust and mutual respect - principles at the heart of Triasima’s culture.

With his experience, leadership, and deep knowledge of the organization, Scott is well positioned to take on the responsibilities of Chief Investment Officer. This milestone marks a natural acknowledgment of his role. His appointment as Co-CIO is part of a multi-year transition plan aimed at ensuring Triasima’s continuity, the professional management of client portfolios, as well as its long-term growth" André Chabot stated

André Chabot’s Transition Process

André remains fully committed to Triasima on a full-time basis and, shares responsibilities for the Chief Investment Officer role. No specific timeline has been set for the final transfer of his duties, other than a gradual transition over time. Clients and consultants will be kept informed at key milestones, in a continued spirit of transparency.

Scott’s appointment as Co-CIO comes in the context of a growing company, whose mentorship and transition process began several years ago. This structured transition notably includes the appointment of Mathieu Tanguay as President in 2016, succeeding André, and reflects Triasima’s commitment to ensuring strong and sustainable succession in its key leadership roles.
